2 Down Beer Co.

2 Down Beer Co. was founded by cousins Gaurav Palkar and Salil Palkar. We launched at Tapped 2019, where we picked up two jury awards, and we’ve quietly built one of the most respected craft beer footprints in Mumbai. Our lager Daddy Cool won medals at The Beer of India Awards in 2022 and 2023. At the core, we’re beer lovers first — every batch we brew has to pass the simple test of whether we’d proudly drink it ourselves.

Founders

Gaurav Palkar | Head Brewer

Gaurav worked in an engineering consultancy firm after graduating from BITS Pilani Goa. He quit the job to work for an F&B startup. That's where he got introduced to the folks from the craft beer industry and to the marvels of fermentation. After a stint as an intern brewer at Gateway Brewing Co., Gaurav did his Diploma in British Brewing Technology from Brewlab, UK.

He's been brewing beers for more than 6 years.

Salil Palkar | Beer Lover

Salil graduated from Sardar Patel College of Engineering and completed his MBA from NMIMS. He worked across software and telecom companies before launching 2 Down Beer Co. Salil loves eating, watching movies and playing tennis. Not impressed or entertained easily, he is the go-to person for movie and food recommendations in his circle.
